Why Lifeboat Accounting, PLLC?

We help nonprofits stay afloat by offering accounting and Virtual CFO services so that they can wear less hats and focus on their businesses and missions. Whether our clients need just a lifesaver (a spare hand), a raft (cleanup, new systems, or training), or the whole boat (outsourced Virtual CFO services), we are here. We utilize technology to streamline your accounting while building the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for our clients. 

"I need your help" or "we're drowning" were common SOS calls. Hearing the need for a more catered accounting service experience, Lifeboat Accounting launched in 2019 as a boutique accounting firm.

We offer everything from modern bookkeeping to virtual CFO services for Nonprofit organizations. We enjoy writing policies, procedures, presentations, and providing education and training for groups and boards. We are QuickBooks and Xero certified. Analysis, budgeting, and process improvement are some of our favorite specialties. 

We are not your grandparents' accounting firm. We are not your old school bookkeeping service.
  • Lifeboat is not brick and mortar. This allows us to be mobile and at the helm and ready for clients. We can come to you, meet in flex spaces, or work together remotely via Zoom. 
  • Our auto-scheduling means you don't have to wait for us, just select a time that works best for you and our CPA will be there. 
  • Consulting is on a flat hourly rate. Our nerdy tech skills afford us the ability to reduce time on accounting for our clients. That savings goes directly back into your pocket. 

Your Shipmates

Amity, Captain 
Amity is a licensed CPA in New Hampshire and Vermont. She has reported to boards, served on boards, audited nonprofits in public accounting, and been audited as a Finance Director. She provides trainings and education on a regular basis. She has published books, written online courses, and has been a guest speaker at colleges, economic development associations, makerspaces, and various programs. 

She was the tax manager at one of the largest non-profit groups in New England ensuring non-profit compliance for dozens of entities. Her work has been presented at big 4 accounting firm national conferences as textbook examples and case studies. She also holds an EMBA in Strategic Leadership and the AICPA Nonprofit Certificate.

Andreina, Engineer 

Andreina is our continuing education and client experience manager. She manages registration for all of our course offerings, monthly free roundtables for clients, and more. Her background includes helping clients with social media and marketing campaigns. She also helps our nonprofit clients as needed for their own marketing and development needs.

Don, Bosun

Don is a certified payroll professional with experience in nonprofit finance and 990 tax preparation experience. Don works on a lot of cleanup projects and allocations of staff time among grants for our clients.

Ellen, Navigator

Ellen holds brings over 25 years of experience in accounting and human resources. She specializes in leadership, operations, accounting analysis, and financial oversight. Ellen has served on three nonprofit boards and was adjunct faculty in the business department and VT State University. She earned her MBA with a concentration in leadership from Franklin Pierce University and a Bachelor's from Western New England University.

Kai, Deckhand

Kai has five years of accounting experience, primarily in the nonprofit and education sectors. She holds a Master's in Accounting, and recently earned her CPA license. She worked at the IRS in the exempt-organization division conducting tax audits and examinations including UBIT. She is Quickbooks Online Certified as well as experienced in online bill payment automation. She is especially passionate about working with nonprofits because of their mission-driven impact. 

Patricia, First Mate 

Patricia comes from a background of working in Law Offices and various administrative roles. As our First Mate, she handles bookkeeping and IRS Form 990s to ensure clients have everything they need for smooth sailing.

Sheena, Steward

Sheena has lived in NH for over 20 years and has bookkeeping experience with a variety of businesses, through nonprofits are her favorite.
