Captain’s Tech Deck

Captain’s Tech Deck

Inspired by Oprah’s favorite things list, here are some of my favorite things for those who love techy things as much as I do.

Rocketbooks

Smart Notebook | The Original Reusable Notebook | Rocketbook (getrocketbook.com)

I cannot live without my Rocketbook. Despite my love of Google calendars, I still write out my schedule a month in advance, with tasks broken down daily and weekly, all by hand. I take notes at client meetings or while on zoom. There’s something about the ability to cross off or erase a task that is fulfilling to me. I also love that they are environmentally friendly and dry-erase. I can take photos of my notes and it can convert them to text, or simply save them as a file in my Dropbox.

Timeular

Timeular - easy and accurate time tracking

It’s very easy for me to work on 2-12 different clients in a day. Whether I use their physical desk flipper or the app on my phone to start and stop, it tracks my time by client in a simple manner. I use this to track all of my time to see where I might be spending too much on tasks that don’t add value.

Calendly

Free Online Appointment Scheduling Software | Calendly

This one is for those of you who are meeting intensive like me. Calendly saves so much back-and-forth time with emails and phone calls, and makes scheduling meetings easy.

Temi

Audio to Text Automatic Transcription Service & App | temi.com

If you’re like me, someone who always has things and ideas in their head, but never have the time to sit down and write, try Temi! I’ll talk to myself in my car or record a presentation that I did live and then submit it to Temi. Voila, draft blog, book, or program created.
